“I’m so ready for the cruise.” An outcry my friend and I recited many times over the months leading up to the Norwegian voyage. I had never experienced quite a vacation like one aboard a 3,000+ passenger vessel. I had no expectations other than hoping to enjoy some time away from work, social media and some things hanging over my head.
Before stepping foot on the ship, I took I think every form of transportation possible to get there. Car, Airplane, Uber, Train and finally Boat! I met my friend in San Diego and spent one night there. The first thing I couldn’t get over was the moisture in the air. I felt like I could breath clearly and my skin felt much softer.
We spent that evening enjoying beers and some Italian food. I got to experience some of the different neighborhoods my friend lived around. Everything was so close, convenient and integrated it seemed. I loved seeing where Dr. Seuss developed his illustrative inspiration from the trees and scenery too. I had about another day and a half in San Diego after the cruise. I spent the final morning with breakfast in La Jolla at Caroline’s Seaside Cafe and a farewell to the beach.
